Trader shot dead by masked men in Okara

OKARA: A trader was shot dead by unidentified masked men at General Bus Stand on Tuesday. Some unidentified masked men came to the General Bus Stand and started shooting. As a result, a trader, Haji Muhammad Aslam, who was present in the vicinity, received bullets injuries. The people present at the General Bus Stand ran to avoid shooting in utter harassment. The injured trader was shifted to the DHQ Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. B-Division police have started investigation.

CHILD ABDUCTED: A one-year-old child was kidnapped from his house at Kot Bhattian, Depalpur. Aasia Bibi was busy working in the house when Waqar Ali entered and allegedly abducted her one-year-old son Zain Ali. Depalpur City police have registered a case and started investigation.

UNHEALTHY MEAT SEIZED: Chorasta Mian Khan police seized unhealthy meat on Tuesday. On a tip-off, the police raided and stopped a rickshaw and recovered more than 80kg unhealthy meat from it. The police arrested accused Hussain, Nawaz and Yasin, who were carrying the meat for onward supply. The police have registered a case and started investigation.

GANG BUSTED: Haveli Lakha police busted a gang of dacoits here on Tuesday. On complaints, SHO Rana Muhammad Amin and his staff traced and arrested the gangsters. They were identified as Mubashir, Abu Bakar, Sajjad, Sarfraz, Tayyab and Azhar. The police also recovered weapons and cash from them. Further investigation is under way.

PRESSURE HORNS: On the directions of DIG N-5 Masroor Alam Kolachi and Sector Commander Atif Shahzad, a campaign was initiated against the use of pressure horns in the vehicles. During the campaign, 2,941 fine tickets were issued and 2,477 pressure horns were removed from the vehicles. The pressure horns were crushed at the NHMP guidance centre in the presence of the sector commander.
