Boy assaulted, murdered by friends in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA: A 12-year-old boy was assaulted and murdered by his two friends at Alipur Chattha.
Ahtesham, son of Nadeem, went missing two days ago. On Tuesday, someone told Nadeem that his son Ahtesham was last seen with his friends Abdur Rehman and Waseem.
Nadeem immediately informed about it to the police. When the police arrested them, they confessed that they took Ahtesham to a canal where they assaulted him. Later, they hanged him to death and threw his body in the canal.
The police along with Rescue 1122 have launched an operation to recover the body.
KHIDMAT AAP KI DAHLIZ PER PROGRAMME: Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghumman has said that under the Khidmat Aapki Dahliz Per programme, all possible steps are being taken for the provision of better facilities to the citizens.
The commissioner expressed these views while presiding over a video link meeting in which all the deputy commissioners of the division participated. He said that though the performance of the division was remarkable throughout the province, yet all the deputy commissioners and other officers concerned had been directed to improve the performance in terms of transparency and positive public feedback.
He said bogus figures and negligence would not be tolerated and action would be taken against the officers and officials concerned. Taking notice of the bogus activities from Gujarat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad, the commissioner directed the deputy commissioners to enquire about the matter so that responsible officers could be identified and action could be taken against them.
He directed the officials concerned that proactive steps should be taken for timely cleaning and disposal of wastes of sacrificial animals on Eidul Azha.
The commissioner also directed to establish the Land Scrutiny and Legal Aid Committees for overseas Pakistanis in all districts for provision of legal assistance and guidance in resolving the issues being faced by them.
The commissioner directed the supply of flour, sugar and other food items in the markets at cheaper rates and directed the price control magistrates to expedite action against the violators of government rates in the market.
TWO DIE ON ROAD: Two people were killed in road accidents here.
Asim, a resident of Mianwali, fell down from a truck and died on the spot. In another incident, Ahmad Yar, 22, was going by a car when it suddenly went out of control and collided with a truck. Resultantly, Ahmad was killed on the spot. In yet another incident, Saleem was crossing a railway line when a train crushed him to death.
