LHC CJ for speedy justice to people

GUJRANWALA: Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court Justice Ijazul Ahsan has said that more attention should be paid to provide speedy justice to the people.
He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of construction work on the Judicial Complex at Kamoke on Saturday.
The chief justice said that respect for institutions and provision of justice should be ensured at all costs. He said that the judiciary had a responsibility to protect life and honour of the people by providing them swift justice. The CJ said that judges and lawyers should uphold the supremacy of constitution and perform their duties to the best of their abilities. He said that timely disposal of cases and quick dispensation of justice would ensure progress and prosperity of all segments of society. He said that no society could progress and achieve its goals of success and prosperity until delivery of swift justice. Meanwhile, the project would be comprised of two additional sessions courts, four civil courts, two residents for grade 20 and above officers, four residents for grade 18 and 19 officers, four residents for grade 11 to 14 and eight residents for grade 1 to 10 officials. A sum of Rs 245 million would be spent on the construction of new Judicial Complex. Justice Shahid Hamid Dar, Registrar Tariq Iftikhar, District and Sessions Judge Habibullah Amir, Gujranwala Division Commissioner Muhammad Amir Jaan, RPO Muhammad Tahir, CPO Waqas Nazir, Gujranwala Bar Association president Ch Khalid Latif and a large number of lawyers were also present.
