Pak players impressed with new volleyball coach
KARACHI: Pakistani players are very impressed with the newly-hired Iranian volleyball coach Rahman Mohammadi Rad.
A senior player told ‘The News’ that the Iranian coach is very hard working. “He is very hard working and the best thing about him is that he knows the modern system of the game,” a senior player told ‘The News’.
Pakistan team is preparing at Lahore for the Asian Championship to be held in Japan in September this year. “He conducts two sessions of four hours each. The players have been divided into two groups and we are very happy with the way he is doing his job,” the player said.
“He is giving ample time to each and every player without any discrimnation and this is a good thing for him,” the player said. Mohammadi’s services have been hired by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) for initial three months which will be extendable depending on the performance which the Iranian will show as a coach.
Mohammadi is the third Iranian coach which Pakistan has hired during the last 13 years. Meanwhile, a senior official of the PVF told The News that the coach is very serious about nutrition of the players.
“He has told us that there would be no compromise on diet. He has given us all the details about what we should provide in diet to the players. Besides milk, meat and fruits he specifically stresses on the usage of dates during camp,” the official said.
