Siraj for equal CPEC benefits to provinces
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Sirajul Haq has demanded the government ensure equal benefits of CPEC to all provinces and regions.
People of Balochistan have the first right to the resources of their province, he said, regretting all governments failed to address deprivations of Balochistan people, pushing the province into a deep abyss of political unrest.
Addressing a party workers gathering at Mansoora here Monday, he said millions of people of Balochistan, interior Sindh, KP and ‘Fata’ and rural areas of Punjab were living in miserable conditions, facing hours of long loadshedding and having no access to even clean drinking water. He said the past and present rulers never bothered to address the common man problems. It had been proved, he said, adding only job of PTI, PML-N and PPP was the protection of their self-interest.
He said democracy in the country could not flourish until the political parties introduce democracy to their ranks and that the Election Commission of Pakistan emerged as an independent and powerful institution.
Sirajul Haq said the JI had launched the campaign against inflation and unemployment to put pressure on the government to address these issues and provide relief to the masses. He said the government should arrange fuel to the power plants to end loadshedding. He said the government had not paid any attention to improve the electricity transmission system in past three years. He said the country needed a system based on teachings of Quran and Sunnah.
