LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Finance Hashim Jawan Bakht has called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday to discuss future plans.
Reports said the Punjab chief minister congratulated his cabinet minister for presenting a people’s friendly budget for the current financial year. Hashim Jawan Bakth thanked Buzdar for his valued guidance and support in preparation of the budget and the annual development programme. The CM said the Punjab government is committed to timely completing the development projects to maintain the economic growth of the province at a steady pace, saying that the availability of 100 percent allocated funds for ongoing development schemes is being ensured.
Usman Buzdar said the funds have been released by the Finance Department for ongoing schemes for the annual development programme of the financial year 2021-22, while other departments have also been instructed to accelerate the pace on different development schemes without any delay.
Buzdar said he would monitor the progress made on development projects on regular basis. He lauded the finance department that had adopted an effective strategy to deal with the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic, saying that a tax relief package of more than Rs56.5 billion has been given to support the economy.
