LHC CJ Qasim Khan retires today

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan will retire on July 5 (today) from his office after attaining the age of superannuation. The retirement age in the case of high court judges is 62 years while it is 65 years for the Supreme Court justices. Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti will become the new chief justice and take oath of his office as Judicial commission of Pakistan headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Ch Ghulzar Ahmed has already recommended Justice Bhatti’s name for the post of LHC CJ. Justice Bhatti became additional LHC judge on March 12, 2011 and would retire on March 7, 2024. Currently, he is a senior puisne judge in the LHC.
