KARACHI: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill on Saturday alleged that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is looking to strike a deal with the United States but will get nothing from America during his upcoming scheduled visit.
He was addressing a press conference in Karachi at the residence of the opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh. Gill said that Bilawal Bhutto tried to get a 'job'as a prime minister here in Pakistan and dropped his CVs and other documents everywhere but earned no success, since he has no capabilities and qualities for doing or achieving anything in his short career.
“ After getting a poor response from everywhere, Bilawal is likely to embark on a journey to the USA to please some people for the jobs he had long been aspiring of and dreaming for,” he said.
Gill said that the PPP chairman was going to the USA with the intention to get some assistance from quarters to sell his 'conscience' after Prime Minister Imran Khan had firmly refused the American government to allow them to use the country's airbases. He said that immature Bilawal was going to the USA to seek any job against the very interests of the country and warned him to refrain from such actions as times have changed to earn high leadership positions through conspiracies.
Gill said that a self-proclaimed leader emerged out of the 'fake' parchi (the will of Ms. Benazir Bhutto) who could not achieve to clinch a job to compromise the sovereignty of the country, adding the federal government had no plan to put his name on ECL to bar him from traveling to the USA. “But we are prepared to put his name in the PSL to play cricket since his age requires him to play and enjoy life," he said.
Gill claimed that the former USA Secretary of State Ms Condoleezza Rice had brokered the deal between General (R) Pervez Musharraf and Ms. Benazir Bhutto in order to get a free hand of Americans to use the airbases and to attack Afghanistan from Pakistan. “Ms Rice had revealed in her book that after contacting both leaders time and again she finally succeeded to get the deal stricken and they were allowed to use the airbases," he charged and asked the leaders of PPP to read that book,” he said.
Gill said a deal was brokered between Ms Bhutto and General Musharraf on October 3, 2007 which favoured America and went against the solidarity and sovereignty of Pakistan. Following that dangerous deal, he claimed the American forces conducted drone attacks during the tenure of both the leaders.
“Americans carried out 13 drone attacks during the Musharraf era while 340 drone attacks were struck during the PPP rule. Gill said that Ms Rice managed to achieve her agenda through the Pakistani rulers.
“There are strict defamation laws in America but the PPP leadership never bothered to challenge claims in her book,” he said.
Gill made it clear that Bilawal, unlike his predecessors, could not sneak into power in Pakistan since the country was now being run by a brave and selfless leader like Imran Khan.
As long as Imran Khan is Prime Minister no power can cast an evil eye on Pakistan, he said, adding he made it clear that newborn 'politicians' like Bilawal would only invite insult and humiliation for conspiring against the country at a critical time.
He said that Bilawal should do something else instead of playing in the hands of those, who had always acted against country's sovereignty and solidarity, warning him that if he did not refrain from dirty moves, he would be repent his grave mistakes.
Gill said that Imran Khan just wanted to bring the country on path of progress and prosperity and was doing wonders at the international level through his bold decisions. He said that due to their massive corrupt practices, the PPP leaders did not allow PTI's Haleem Adil Sheikh, who is the opposition leader, to address the concluding budget session of the Sindh Assembly. He said that the brave Haleem Sheikh has clean hands and he was ready to face any inquiry and was not afraid of the PPP rulers in Sindh.
Gill said that PPP rulers would not be given the cash money of the public funds for development schemes and every project and scheme would be checked against embezzlement, misappropriation and kickbacks. He asked Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani to stop issuing baseless statements against the NAB.
He made it clear that they were not thinking of imposing the governor's rule in Sindh, adding he is warning them to mend their ways and focus on health and other public issues instead of going to the USA for 'offering to serve their interests'.
Meanwhile, Sindh Law and Environment Adviser, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, while responding to the statement of Prime Minister’s aide Dr Shahbaz Gill, said that Dr Gill made a abortive attempt to increase his political stature by issuing statements against PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“Shahbaz Gill has no ethics as the PTI is synonymous with uncivilised behaviour and the entire world knows that the PTI is alien to culture and civilised behaviour,” said Barrister Murtaza Wahab who also acts as spokesman for Sindh government.
He said the people of the country knew that the PTI had promoted the use of abusive language, uncivilised conduct, and promoting politics of hate and intolerance. “Everybody knows as to what his (Dr Gill’s) party recently did inthe Parliament,” he said.
He said that attempts were being made to disgrace Parliament eversince the present selected rulers had come into power. “But they should better know that they will never be successful in their vicious attempts,” Sindh law adviser said.
He alleged that people like Dr Shahbaz Gill would run away from the country once their assignment was finished. “The day will soon come when Shahbaz Gill would return to the foreign land after ditching the PTI,” he said. “Gill’s only identity is of holding press conference alongside people like Haleem Adil Shaikh,"who are known to be involved in illegal possession of land belonging to poor, orphans, and widows, he charged.
He said the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the true reflection of the bright future of the country and was the grandson of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said the Pakistan People’s Party was the only political party of the country that had even sacrificed its own leadership for the interests of Pakistan and democracy. He said only the PPP was capable of putting Pakistan on the path of progress and development as against the present selected rulers who have agonised the lives of general public in the country.
