Landslide kills miner in Karak

KARAK: A mineworker was killed and his brother sustained injuries after being hit by a landslide inside a gypsum mine at Jatta Ismailkhel area in the district.
Police sources said that two brothers identified as Qadir Khan and Awal Khan were busy working inside the gypsum mine when it collapsed after being struck by a heavy landslide. Their co-workers started making efforts to rescue them.
After hectic efforts using heavy machinery, they were retrieved in injured condition. They were rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Banda Daud Shah but the doctors pronounced Qadir Khan dead on arrival. His brother Awal Khan was referred to a hospital in Peshawar due to his precarious condition.
