Amir’s apology
By News Desk
January 02, 2016
This refers to the letter, ‘Amir returns’ (December 28) by Air Cdre (r) Mohammad Yaqoob Khan. The writer has stated that Mohammad Amir should be allowed to play for the national team because he has apologised for his role in the spot-fixing scandal.
Let us not forget that his action had tarnished our image in the cricket world. While it is true that there is no dearth of young, energetic and talented fast bowlers in the country, offences that disgrace the entire country cannot be forgiven through a simple apology. Instead of giving him another chance, the PCB should recruit and train young talent.
