Customs Collectorate West Karachi collects over Rs339b
LAHORE/Karachi: The Custom Collectorate of Appraisement West Karachi collected over Rs339 billion during FY 2020-21 and posted growth of 44% in overall revenue collection. Last year, revenue collection was Rs235 billion.
A meeting for reviewing performance for the financial year was held on June 30 that was attended by all the officers of the Collectorate. The collection of revenue through administrative measures remained main focus of the meeting. The Collectorate collected over Rs28 billion through administrative measures showing an increase of over 282% over previous financial year. Jamil Nasir, Collector, who chaired the meeting, lauded the efforts of officers and officials who sat late hours and worked even on Sundays to clear the import cargo. “Every member of the Collectorate, additional collectors, deputy collectors, assistant collectors, principal appraisers, chemical examiners, appraisers, office superintendents, stenotypists, assistant private secretaries, personal assistants, naib qasids, havaldars, drivers and sepoys irrespective of their position in the organisational hierarchy played vital role in revenue collection”. Some had direct role while others contributed indirectly; it was team effort,” he added.
