BARA: Senate Deputy Chairman Mirza Muhammad Afridi Thursday said the government was providing all facilities including health, education, gas and drinking water, to the merged districts as a priority.
He was speaking at the summer package distribution ceremony at the Bara tehsil of the Khyber district. Besides, a former member of the national assembly Muhammad Shah Afridi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members including Javed Afridi, Abdul Ghani Afridi, elders and others were present on the occasion. As many as 360 summer packages were distributed for free among the poor and deserving people. Each package consisted of a solar panel, battery and fan.
The Senate deputy chairman said the Bara sub-division people had been facing a lot of problems for the last several years.
He said the government and public infrastructure had been damaged when militancy was at its peak in the area.
Mirza Muhammad Afridi said three heavy transformers had been installed at the Bara grid station for power supply to the domestic power consumers which it would become functional soon.
He maintained the Dogra Type-D Hospital would be upgraded soon as the people were facing a lack of health facilities. He announced to hand over an ambulance to the Dogra Hospital. “I want to serve the poor and deserving people,” he assured the gathering.
Mirza Muhammad Afridi said the government would set up a school, especially for orphan children in Bara which would be provided with all facilities. He assured that those Khassadars who had been suspended in the past during militancy would be reinstated soon.
