LAHORE: The 46th meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (retd) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani.
The top statutory body approved selection boards for appointment on key posts of the controller of examinations and registrar.
Other members who attended included UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Javed Akram, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Maroof Aziz, Prof. Anwar A. Khan and additional secretary Punjab Finance department while Prof. Saleema Hashmi, PTI MNA Andelib Abbas and additional secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education department Usman Khalid attended the meeting via video link. UHS Registrar Dr Asad Zaheer and Treasurer Baqi Bin Hanif were also present on the occasion.
The meeting discussed important administrative and financial issues related to the university. The board approved the commencement of family medicine programs at its constituent Gujranwala Medical College. These programs will be launched under the auspices of the UHS Family Medicine department.
The meeting also approved the selection boards for the appointment of the controller of examinations and registrar of the university. The selection board for the controller of examinations will be headed by the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Maroof Aziz while other members will include Prof. Nadia Naseem, Dr Asad Zaheer and the controllers of examinations of Punjab University and the University of Education Lahore. The registrar’s selection board will be headed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Javed Akram.
