Second phase of ‘Khidmat Aap ki Dehleez Per’ launched

LAHORE: After successful completion of the first phase, the Punjab government has launched the five-week second phase of the Khidmat Aap ki Dehleez Per programme that would continue till August 1.

According to the schedule, the Week for Cleanliness and Drainage will be observed from June 28 to July 4, Special Campaign Week from July 5 to July 11, Plantation Week (Her Bashar Do Shajar) from July 12 to July 18, Eid-ul-Azha Week from July 19 to July 25 and Road Safety Week would be observed from July 26 to August 1.

To review the programme, the Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat. The additional chief secretary, local government secretary, Punjab Information Technology Board chairman and other officers concerned attended the meeting while all the divisional commissioners participated in it through video link.

The chief secretary termed the results of the first phase encouraging and asked the officers to continue work with the same spirit for the success of the programme. He directed the deputy commissioners to personally monitor implementation of the programme and take action against the officials over negligence in resolution of complaints.

He said that even after the end of a particular week, citizens could register a complaint through the Khidmat app. The meeting was briefed that more than 4.1 million activities were carried out during the first phase. A many as 25,792 complaints were received through Khidmat App out of which 22,745 addressed timely. The complaint resolution rate remained 88 per cent while the public satisfaction rate was 79 per cent.

During the Cleanliness and Drainage Week, activities would be carried out related to the whitewashing of schools, cleaning of Katchehris and lock-ups, cleaning of water tanks and chlorination, replacement of filters in water filtration plants.

The Special Campaign Week would be allocated for appropriate arrangements at designated cattle sale points. Action against illegal buffalo barns in City areas would be taken. During the Plantation Week, tree plantation, flower exhibitions and levelling of playgrounds would be done. During the Eid-ul-Aza Week, activities would be carried out regarding implementation of corona SOPs during Eid prayers, overall cleanliness of cities especially in and around Eidgahs, maintaining law and order especially concerning firing into the air, disposal of remains of sacrificial animals. In the Road Safety Week, work regarding road repair, removal of electricity poles and wires, removal of illegal speed breakers, traffic management in congested areas, helmet campaign, and fitness check of vehicles.
