Chopping off hands of worker
Inquiry committee records statements
From Our Correspondent
HAFIZABAD: A three-member inquiry committee on Thursday visited Hafizabad and recorded statements of Rescue 1122 personnel, Kassoke SHO and four accused in a case of chopping off hands of a worker.
Later, the committee members visited Wachoki village and recorded statements of villagers and an Imam Masjid. They told the committee that the allegation was baseless and the hands of Abu Bakr alias Akram were cut off while cutting fodder.
They said that one of the accused arrested by police had even provided his blood to Akram in a hospital. They claimed that former UC nazim Rana Israrul Haq was a thorough gentleman and it was an attempt to blackmail him. The members later proceeded to the native village of Akram to record his statement. The team will soon submit its report to the chief minister.
