Twin cities receive heavy rain

ISLAMABAD: As many as 90 power distribution feeders tripped due to thunderstorm, leaving most parts of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Murree and Attock, without electricity for hours on Friday.
Reports said several trees and electric poles in Murree areas were uprooted due to the thunderstorm and heavy rainfall. Cellular signals were also disturbed in all the affected areas. The cellular signals and electricity supply in several parts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were not restored till the filing of the report. The IESCO official spokesman, Raja Asim Nazir, told The News that the thunderstorm caused tripping of nearly 90 feeders.
