The past is not retrievable but provides good lessons to those who are interested in learning anything from it. It seems that our politicians are, surprisingly, more interested in repeating past mistakes. Their rigid attitudes don’t let them see their own faults. Our economy has been in bad shape for decades now, but every government continues to blame the previous governments for ruining it. While each government blames the past governments for destroying the economy, it never changes course on important issues and keeps committing the same mistake. How do they expect different results if they keep doing what their predecessors did? The selfish and myopic policies of our politicians have gradually brought us to a point where middle and lower classes are finding it increasingly difficult to survive.
High inflation, low employment, and non-existent healthcare and education facilities have created many difficulties for the people of Pakistan. Instead of realising the gravity of the situation, our politicians have gone too far in their animosity for each other. Recently, they turned the country’s sacred house – the National Assembly – into a battleground. If our political leadership does not realise the gravity of the situation, we will keep witnessing the same blame game which will prove to be quite disastrous for our country. Our leaders must work together to bring the country on the path to prosperity, progress and economic strength
