Indonesia keen to enhance trade
KARACHI: Consul General of Indonesia Dr June Kuncoro Hadiningrat on Thursday assured of encouraging people-to-people contacts and facilitating the business community to further enhance trade and economic relations between Indonesia and Pakistan.
The Indonesian CG, who was accompanied by Consul for Economic Affairs Djumara Supriyadi, gave the assurance at a meeting during his visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
Referring to the statistics of Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Dr Kuncoro informed that the trade volume between Indonesia and Pakistan was now more than $2.5 billion, and there were a lot of areas which could be explored for further increasing the trade volume.
The Indonesian CG also mentioned that an Indonesia-Pakistan portal has been established to facilitate trade and invited the business community of Karachi to get registered in this portal to find business opportunities in Indonesia.
