45 test positive for corona
Rawalpindi : No death was reported due to coronavirus illness, COVID-19 from Islamabad Capital Territory and Rawalpindi district in the last three days from where a total of 1766 patients had already died of the illness.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 45 new patients from the twin cities have been diagnosed with coronavirus illness taking tally to 107,131. It is important that the number of patients being tested positive from the federal capital and Rawalpindi district is on a decline for the last three weeks or so.
The positivity rate of COVID-19 has already dropped to a significant level in both ICT and Rawalpindi as in the last 24 hours, it was around one per cent in the region.
According to In-charge District COVID-19 Cell Rawalpindi Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Jawad Zahid, a total of 18 patients have been tested positive in the district against 1,459 tests conducted in the last 24 hours registering a positivity rate of 1.23 per cent.
From Rawalpindi district, a total of 24,700 patients have so far been confirmed positive for COVID-19 of which 991 have lost their lives while 23,560 have recovered from the illness. On Wednesday, there were a total of 149 active cases of the disease from Rawalpindi.
According to District Health Office Rawalpindi, only 19 patients belonging to the district were hospitalised in town while some 130 were in isolation at their homes on Wednesday.
