KARACHI: Multan Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan on Wednesday said that they have prepared plans and every effort would be made to put in their best in the HBL PSL-6 final against Peshawar Zalmi which will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday (today).
“I cannot reveal the plans but I can say that we have prepared plans for all the players of the opposition and we will leave no stone unturned in making our best effort,” Rizwan told a virtual news conference on Wednesday.
“You know Zalmi have depth in batting. If Zazai gets out early they have Shoaib Malik also, who is in top nick, and so we have prepared strategy for each and every player,” Rizwan was quick to add.
Asked about his team’s strength and long tail, Rizwan said depth in batting sometimes hurts a side. “It sometimes hurts you because batsmen think that they have depth in their batting. We have six batsmen and these six know that they have to score runs and so it has been good for us,” Rizwan said.
He said he has tried to make the side well-gelled. “From the start my main effort was to make the team well-gelled. I am learning as a skipper. I have heard that Younis Khan and Sachin Tendulkar were learning even in the twilight of their careers and so I am also learning and will keep learning,” Rizwan said.
“I have always tried to utilise every player according to his potential. I keep everything simple and leave results to God,” Rizwan said.
He appreciated the strong support of his team’s owners and management. “There is huge support of the team’s owners and management. They have met all our requirements and it’s a big thing,” Rizwan said.
“I am very happy that each and every player has performed as per their role and it’s a good thing for us. Sohaib Maqsood and Dhani were exceptional, Khushdil, Sohail Tanvir and Imran Senior also played their roles,” Rizwan said.
