Cop nabbed for bribe

FAISALABAD: A policeman was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Establishment team headed by Circle Officer Nasir Abbas on Wednesday.
Head Constable Zufiqar Ali allegedly received Rs 240,000 bribe from Ghulam Nabi for recruitment of his brother and the son of his friend in the Police Department.
He was kept in City police station’s lockup after the arrest. The ACE has moved the court for his physical remand to recover the amount of illegal gratification.
KILLED ON ROAD: A man was killed in a road accident on Wednesday. Muhammad Hussain of Hani Khan Chowk, Mansoorabad, was on his way when the veil of his daughter was entangled in rear wheel of the motorcycle near Allied Hospital. Muhammad Hussain fell on road and died on the spot.
POOR PERFORMANCE: DCO Noorul Amin Mengal on Wednesday stopped the incharge of rural health centre, Chak 65/GB, from working on poor performance. Dr Riaz Ali had been absent from duty since long without any cogent reason.
