PTI govt has lost capacity to bring about change: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq said the PTI government was left with neither any more time to bring the much- trumpeted change in the country, nor with the capacity to do that.
To avoid admitting complete failure, entire PTI leadership and ministers were busy in making false claims as finance minister claimed that inflation was only 13%, and other ministers claimed government was bringing it further down, and then one minister insisted inflation was good for industry and country to grow, he said while talking to media at Mansoora Monday after returning from three-day visit to Faisalabad.
Siraj lamented that in three years, Prime Minister Imran Khan could not even set country’s direction towards the promised change or the destination of making it like the state of Madina. Four finance ministers left after tinkering with the economy with the claims of striving for its stability, but now the nation was being told that focus had been changed towards growth instead of stability, he added. “Inflation-stricken poor people are screaming and shouting to the rulers to focus on going home early and leave them alone. The patience of the common man must not be tested further,” he added.
Siraj said, “institutions need to focus on eradicating corruption and governance. Unscrupulous rulers are not expected to fix the country and resolve people’s problems. The system has to change. Islam-loving people want an Islamic system of justice and equality in Pakistan”. He lamented that those chanting slogans of democracy and state of Madina did the most damage to these two precious causes to the extent that masses were not ready to believe anyone making those claims. Siraj expressed sorrow that major political parties were opposing election reforms fearing if the influence of money and coercion eliminated in elections, their path to power would be closed.
He lamented that Faisalabad, once Pakistan’s Manchester, has now become a hub of problems, as city’s business suffered the most while millions of people suffered from lack of urban planning, polluted water, garbage dumps, urban transport problems and other similar issues but successive governments have not paid attention to resolving them. Young people are unemployed and businesses are badly affected. The corona pandemic affected millions of people in every city. He said rehabilitation of people and families affected by the pandemic and other problems is a big challenge but unfortunately the government is entangled in rhetoric and sloganeering. The democratic rights of the people were robbed in the name of democracy, he added. Due to lack of justice and rule of law, the problems of the common man are increasing day by day. He said Jamaat-e-Islami has the full potential to get the nation out of this quagmire. We have a comprehensive charter and competent and experienced people in all fields, he further added.
