Non-implementation of Rescue-1122 law
Pervaiz for action if written explanation not submitted

LAHORE:Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has told the officers that if a written explanation regarding non-implementation of Rescue-1122 law was not submitted in the next meeting legal action would be taken against the responsible.
A Special Committee meeting was held under chairmanship of Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here Monday. The meeting was participated by Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, MPAs Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Sajid Ahmad Khan, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Syed Usman Mahmood, Nawabzada Waseem Khan, Mian Shafi Muhammad, Malik Jamshed Altaf, Ms Sonia, Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti and DG Parliamentary Affairs Inayatullah Lak. During the June 17 assembly session, MPA Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan presented a privilege motion in which Pervaiz Elahi had directed the officers concerned that they should submit a written explanation regarding non-implementation of Rescue-1122 law. However, in Monday's meeting when questioned about not implementing the law they apologised for not submitting written explanation and seeking extension assured that they would submit written explanation in the next meeting.
Accepting this, Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that if a written explanation was not submitted in the next meeting legal action would be taken against the responsible. Basharat Raja and the officials concerned held out assurance that the law would be implemented.
Additional Chief Secretary S&GAD, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Secretary Regulation, Secretary I&C also attended the meeting. Pervaiz Elahi adjourned the Special Committee meeting until June 23 (tomorrow).
