MARDAN: The district police have arrested 12 proclaimed offenders, one abettor in crimes and 111 other suspects during raids on Monday.
On the directives of District Police Officer Zahidullah Khan, the cops conducted search operations in rural and urban areas of the Mardan district and arrested 12 proclaimed offenders and one accomplice. The cops also recovered 33 pistols, two rifles and 410 bullets, and also lodged a case against the arrestees. Also, two persons were arrested and over 2kg charas and 50 grams of ice (methamphetamine) were recovered from them while 111 suspects were nabbed at barricades on various routes and taken into custody for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the SHOs and SDPOs from all over Mardan district attended a crime review meeting, chaired by the DPO. SP investigation Sanaullah Khan was also present. The meeting reviewed the progress reports on actions against drugs, land mafia, usury and other crimes in jurisdictions of various police stations. The DPO directed the cops to take actions, with the consultation of local elders, religious scholars and other notables of good repute. He also asked SHOs to be polite with the public and solve their problems.
