Mufti Aziz, sons arrested
LAHORE: The CIA police Sunday arrested Mufti Aziz ur Rehman and his sons from different parts of the city.
The arrests were made after an FIR was registered against Mufti Aziz and his sons namely Atta, Altaf and Attique by the North Cantonment police on the complaint of one Sabir Shah.
The complainant accused the Mufti of sodomizing him. The victim had uploaded the Mufti’s objectionable act on social media. Mufti, on the other hand, had contended that he was drugged into doing the act and that the student was being “used against” him.
Meanwhile, Punjab Inspector-General Police Inam Ghani vowed to treat the issue as a “test case”, saying that the police would conduct scientific investigation, prosecute and get the former JUI leader convicted by the court.
“We have been able to arrest this criminal. We will take it as a test case, interrogate him, conduct scientific professional investigation, prosecute and get him convicted by the court,” he tweeted.
He said Punjab Police wanted to rid society of child molesters and make it a safer place for children.
