CM approves design, colour of metro train stations

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting regarding Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project, here Wednesday, in which approval of design and colour of stations of the project was given. 

Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project was the biggest and unique project in the transport history of Pakistan. He said that comfortable, speedy, safe and economical travelling facilities would be available to the people after completion of the project. 

The chief minister said that the Punjab government was spending huge resources on the provision of quality transport to the people. He said that best transport system was vital for the promotion of economic and trade activities. He said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project would bring improvement in transport system. He directed that a business plan should be evolved for trade activities at the stations of the project. Shahbaz Sharif appreciated members of the committee for designing stations of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train and said that the stations should be simple, impressive and very beautiful. Kh Ahmed Hasaan, Majid Zahoor MPA, Chief Secretary, MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority, Kamran Lashari, renowned architect Nayyer Ali Dada, Commissioner and DCO Lahore as well as officials concerned attended the meeting. 

Kidney Institute: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting, here Wednesday, which reviewed the progress on Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre Project. President Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre Dr Saeed Akhtar gave a briefing about the progress of the project. Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that the project was a trendsetter for providing quality public health facilities. He said that modern treatment facilities would be available to the kidney and liver patients after completion of this project. He said that provision of quality treatment facilities to the common man was top priority of the government. 

He said that record funds had been allocated for improving public health facilities. He said that the biggest health budget had been presented in the history of the province, through which, new hospitals were being set up and medical facilities improved. He said that Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre Project was of great importance.
