Pervez Khattak says opposition stands bitterly divided
NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak said on Sunday the budget would be passed by the legislator easily as opposition parties stood bitterly divided and were fighting each other.
Talking to reporters at his hometown of Manki Sharif in the Nowshera district, he said the federal government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan had put a special focus on providing relief to the poor in the recently announced budget.
Talking of the steps taken to help the poor segments of the society, the defence minister said a survey had been launched to provide relief to the poor. He said ration cards would be issued to the poor to ensure supply of food items to them at the 30 per cent subsidized rates.
Pervez Khattak was all praise for the KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and his team for unveiling a balanced and pro-poor provincial budget and thus setting an example for others to follow.
The federal minister said all the economic team of the prime minister and ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee had launched efforts to ensure victory for the party in the next general election slated for the year 2023. He was critical of the main opposition parties and believed that the politics practised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan people’s s Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam had no future.
Pervez Khattak said the people had rejected the politics of sit-in and protests which was launched by opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). “JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is using the PDM platform to put pressure on the government to seek relief for tainted leaders but these tactics would not work,” he added.
