ISLAMABAD: Huzaifa Khan turned the tables on Sami Zeb to win the Under-18 singles title in the 2nd PTF Development Series Junior National Ranking Tennis here at the PTF Complex Sunday.
Sami, who won the first event last week, found going tough against Huzaifa losing in a three-set match. Huzaifa won the final 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(4). He started winning the first set 7-5 before Sami staged a comeback snatching the second. It was all to play for in the third set with both players refusing to budge. The final was then decided on a tie-break which saw Huzaifa coming back strongly to win 7-4. Huzaifa kept his morale high to win the final.
In the girls’ Under-18 singles final, Amna Ali Qayum got the better of Sheeza Sajid 6-2, 7-6(5) to earn the title. Both the girls matched each other to make it a competitive final.
Serena Hotels Director Sales & Marketing Faisal Khan and Senior Manager Marketing and Communications Hussain Odhwani graced the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively and distributed prizes amongst the winners and finalists of the event.
