Jewellery shop robbed in Malir
Robbers looted gold and cash from a jewellery shop in Khokhrapar on Saturday.
The Khokhrapar police said around 45 tolas of gold and thousands of rupees in cash were looted from the shop in a market of the area.
Th police, while sharing the findings of the initial investigation, said the robbers entered the market after breaking locks.
The police investigators also obtained CCTV footage of the suspects where they could be seen fleeing after robbing the shop. A case has been registered while an investigation is under way.
Extortionist held
Police on Saturday arrested a suspect for his alleged involved in extortion cases.
The suspect, Sheraz Qureshi, was arrested during a raid conducted in PECHS Society.
The Ferozabad police also claimed to have recovered Rs50,00 extortion money from his possession.
The police said the suspect along with his companions had demanded Rs500,000 from a citizen, Jami, and was arrested when he arrived to collect the money.
A case has been registered while an investigation is under way.
