Shortage of corona vaccine in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Corona vaccine shortage has intensified in the district. After the crisis, it had been decided to keep the vaccination centres closed on Saturday and Sunday. However, the Health Department said that the vaccination centres were being closed for sanitation. Citizens who came to get the first dose of the vaccine at 34 vaccination centres across the district had to return disappointed on Friday. However, some vaccination centres were given only a second dose of the synovic vaccine.

Digital parking cards: The Faisalabad Parking Company has introduced Digital QR based parking cards in the district.

The company has introduced Digital QR based parking cards as another step towards digitisation and modern parking system. Giving details, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said that special parking cards would be issued to the users at 44 parking sites and after scanning the cards, the vehicles would be abled to enter and exit the parking area while the user would pay the fee after texting on mobile.

He said that the move would also curb the incidents of overcharging and vehicle theft. He said that a special App was also developed by the company after Additional Deputy Commissioner General Khurram Pervez was given the additional responsibility of MD.

CORONA CLAIMS ANOTHER LIFE: One more COVID-19 patient died here on Friday.

According to a spokesperson for the Health Department, the COVID-19 death toll had reached to 1,129 in the district and four more people tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours. He said 612 tests for coronavirus were conducted in public and private sectors during the same period. He said so far, 20,223 patients had recovered from the disease while total active cases in Faisalabad had reached 255. He said 339 beds were allocated at the Allied Hospital, 133 at the DHQ Hospital and 150 beds at General Hospital Ghulam Muhammdabad for COVID-19 patients.

FINE: Shopkeepers and transport owners were imposed Rs 19,000 fine for violating corona SOPs on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali stated that 1,720 shopping malls, 355 restaurants, 113 private schools, 48 marriage halls, seven private offices, a bus stand and four grocery shops were sealed and 145 public transports were impounded while 1037 people who were walking on highways and public places without face mask were arrested since March 15, 2021.
