MULTAN: The South Punjab Additional Inspector General Police (SPAIGP) Captain Zafar Iqbal Awan (Rtd) said that investigation courses are being conducted in accordance with international standards to save the crime scene and make the field officers aware of modern techniques of investigation. “Special focus is also being laid on the mental and moral training of the staff in the police stations to improve their image among the people.”
He expressed these views while visiting the Police Training College here on Friday. On arrival, the Additional IG was greeted by a well-armed contingent of police while Commandant Training College Gohar Mushtaq Bhatta received the Additional IG. The Additional IG also distributed prizes among the position holders of the Special Investigation Promotional Course. Mr Zafar Iqbal also gave cash prizes to the police officers who completed the course. Former Commandant Training College Maqsood Khan Kachhi was also present on the occasion.
Zafar Iqbal Awan said the trained officers are expected to perform well in the field for the dignity of the department and the training college is focusing on mental and moral training of police personnel which is a welcome sign.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant Training College Gohar Mushtaq Bhatta said the training of the first batch of SHO-level officers has been completed in accordance with modern needs. “Those who complete the course should aim at public service in their respective fields.” Earlier, position holders Muhammad Saleem Ahmed, Kaleemullah, Dilshad Ali Khan and Kaleem received cash prizes and shields.
