Hindering execution of Rescue 1122 Law: Pervaiz Elahi warns of action against responsible
LAHORE : Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Friday said that action would be taken against those who created obstructions in the implementation of this law.
Meeting of Special Committee No 13 was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi in the Punjab Assembly here on Friday. MPA Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan had submitted a privilege motion in the assembly wherein he had stated “Punjab Assembly had passed an Act on June 16, 2006 under which Emergency Service 1122 came into existence. It was mentioned in this Act that for running this service the concerned department will formulate the rules but the rules have not been formulated despite the passing of several years”. In view of this, the House on March 02, 2021 unanimously passed Emergency Services Amendment Bill under which the services of DG Rescue.
Speaker Punjab Assembly said that action will be taken against those who created obstructions in the implementation of this law. The meeting unanimously decided to call for explanations in writing for not implementing 1122 Law from Additional Chief Secretary S&GAD, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Law Secretary, Secretary Regulation, Secretary I&C.
