Siraj demands apology from MPs for creating chaos in Parliament
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq has demanded unconditional apology by the MNAs and ministers, involved in using ugly abusive language and hullabaloo from entire nation for their act of breaching the trust of the masses and badly damaging Parliament’s sanctity.
The National Assembly (NA) incident overshadowed the vitally important budget debate and it seemed both the government and mainstream opposition intentionally created the scene to divert masses’ attention from the destruction of national economy, he said while addressing a meeting of JI Youth Board at Mansoora on Thursday.
“I fear the public will further face economic hardships after the tough steps and taxes in the budget,” he said, and quoted a recent survey painting a dismal picture of economy. He said inflation and unemployment were the biggest problems faced by masses and government must explain what steps it had taken so far to resolve these issues. He lamented that PTI had overtaken the PMLN and PPP regimes in enforcing cruel IMF policies on the masses and proved true successor of past regimes.
He said all PTI claims to bring change proved pack of lies. The youth of Pakistan, he urged, must play role to get rid of the status quo and transform the country into a welfare state.
JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim and other leaders participated in the meeting. The preparation of the JI for the local government polls and next election, the organisational matter and suggestions to bring more and more young people under the banner of the JI came under discussion.
