Official asks railways employees to improve safety measures
PESHAWAR: Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Nisar Memon has asked all the employees to bring improvement in their working to enhance safety measures and generate more revenue for the department.
Speaking at a meeting about the train safety in Peshawar division here on Thursday, he said that the current situation had inflicted huge losses on the PR, adding that everyone should play their role to restore the image of the railways.
Divisional Superintendent Wasif Ali Mughal and all divisional officers, assistant executive officers and supervisory staff attended the meeting. He said the workers should take initiatives within the available resources to minimise accidents. He directed the field officers to ensure the safety measures and raise awareness among the field staff about minimising the accidents.
He also interacted with the railways workers. The workers informed the CEO of their problems. The employees apprised him of the problems regarding gratuity, quarter’s allotment and non-payment of TLA. He interacted with workers for more than two hours and recorded their problems. He directed the officials to take steps for solving their problems.
