Ibrahim clinches junior tennis title
KARACHI: Ibrahim Iltafat dropped a set before beating Asad Khan in the summit clash in U18 singles event of the 7th PTF Development Series Juniors National Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded here on Tuesday at the Union Club Tennis Courts.
Ibrahim won the first set 6-2, but Asad leveled the arrears by winning the second set 6-2. In the third and decisive set, top seed Ibrahim won the set in tie-breaks to record a 6-2, 2-6, 10-5 victory.
In the Under-16 singles final, Hassan Farooq recorded a straight set triumph against Amin Shafi 6-2, 7-5.
Amin also claimed a title when he defeated Osama Khan 6-2, 6-3 in U14 singles climax.
In the U12 singles final, Farzan Ahmed defeated Abdullah Ahmedani 8-6.
In the U18 doubles final, the pair of Ibrahim Iltafat and Asad Khan overpowered the duo of Nazif Ahmed and Dawar Rehan 8-2.
In the U10 singles final, Zain Mohammad Ali thrashed Ahmed Ahmadani 8-1. In the ladies singles final, Rida Khan defeated Erij Batool.
