If reports are to be believed, the country is going to witness another increase in the prices of petroleum products. Since last year, especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people have been unable to manage their monthly expenses. Rising prices have made it impossible for people, especially for the salaried class, to make their ends meet. Last week, the government said that it has presented a people-friendly budget. In reality, the authorities didn’t introduce any new measure to address the plight of people. Living in the country is becoming quite difficult for a majority of people. From school fees to inflated electric bills, every other facility is getting out of reach. When will the government take notice of this sorry situation? We deserve to have access to the basic facilities of life. The government must take serious and timely steps to deal with the serious problem of rising inflation.
