LAHORE: US Embassy Chargé d’affaires Lesslie Viguerie highlighting the importance of the Punjab region reaffirmed the value of the US-Pakistan partnership during his recent trip to Lahore.
Viguerie called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi and also met with civil society and media representatives during his visit from June 13-15.
“The United States is committed to working with the government and people of Pakistan to ensure a prosperous, peaceful, and stable future,” he said. “It’s an honour to visit Punjab and witness first-hand the diversity and strength of its people and explore its rich history and culture.” The diplomat also visited Wazir Khan Masjid, site of a US government-funded renovation project, which was made possible through the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, an initiative to protect at-risk cultural treasures.
