LAHORE: Punjab government has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking cancellation of bail earlier granted to PMLN MNA Javed Latif by the Sessions Court in a case pertaining to anti-state remarks and inciting people against state.
The Prosecutor General Punjab has filed the petition, saying the MNA made a speech against state institutions. “The Sessions Court approved his bail plea while neglecting the facts in the case,” he pleaded.
On June 09, the Sessions Court granted post-arrest bail to Mian Javed Latif in a case pertaining to anti-state remarks. The Township police had registered an FIR on complaint of citizen Jameel Saleem under sections 120/120B, 153/153A, 500, 505(i)(B) and 506 of PPC. All these sections deal with offences of causing incitement against the state institutions.
