Rs19.91b specified for Police Dept
LAHORE:The Punjab Government has allocated budget of Rs19.91 billion under the head of development budget for Punjab Police Department for 85 ongoing and 79 new schemes while Rs128.940 billion have been allocated under the head of non-development for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The non-development budget will be spent on the salaries of officers and officials, for regular and other allowances, employees related expenses, operating expenses, employee retirement benefits, grants, subsidies and write-offs of loans/advances, transfers, repairs and maintenance and expenditure on acquiring of physical assets.
Out of the total ongoing schemes, 6 are related to housing sector of police department at the total cost of Rs1197.557 millions. The projects include construction of 10 barracks and 3 hostels at Punjab Constabulary (PC) Lahore; construction of residential flats for police officials Grade 01 to 10 adjacent to PS Manawan Lahore; construction of 5 police residences for BS 18 and BS 19 in Lahore; Master Planning of Qurban Lines; construction of Admin Block Quarter Guard, accommodation, upper sub-ordinates in police lines Nankana Sahib and construction of SP Investigation and SDPO Offices and residencies in Punjab. The budget of Rs11303.824 million (Rs11.30 billion) has also been allocated for 79 ongoing schemes under the head of ‘Offices’. The ongoing schemes included construction of police training School Rawat, district Rawalpindi; construction of infrastructure for Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Regional Office Rawalpindi; construction of boundary wall and watch towers at Campus III Police College Sihala Rawalpindi; Establishment Dolphin Squad in City Districts of Punjab one at Rawalpindi; construction of Pir Wadhai PS District Rawalpindi; construction of DPO office Narowal; construction of new Stable at Police Training College Lahore, Elite Training School Lahore; construction of Traffic Police Lines No. 02 at Lahore; construction of offices of Dolphin Squad Sadar Division; Establishment of Dolphin PS at Saggian Lahore; construction of Lines/Training School for Close Protection Unit (Dolphin) at Township Lahore; construction of Auditorium Hall, barracks, and admin office at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh Lahore, construction of Sport Gymnasium & Library at PTC Lahore; purchase of land from LDA workshop for enhancing security of Qurban Lines Lahore; construction of RPO Sheikhupura Office at Chung Lahore and construction of SPU at Ladheikey Uchey Tehsil Raiwind Lahore; Provincial Police Lines of Punjab Highway Patrol at Jia Bagga Lahore; capacity strengthening for Project Development Management of Police Department and construction of residential flats for police officers/officials Grade 11 to 14 and 15 to 17 adjacent to police station Manawan Lahore.
Rs1.1b for Rescue 1122: The Punjab government has announced allocation of Rs1.100 billion development budget for Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) for fiscal year (2021-22). The amount is meant for a total of 55 schemes, 36 new schemes and 19 ongoing schemes. Am amount of Rs550 million each has been announced for ongoing and new schemes.
