Plea against minister, others dismissed
LAHORE: An accountability court on Saturday dismissed a petition seeking directions to the National Accountability Bureau for filing of reference regarding assets beyond means against PTI Minister Hashim Jawan Bakhat and others.
The court dismissed the petition stating that it is not the jurisdiction of the accountability court to intervene in any under inquiry subject of the National Accountability Bureau.
As per details, petitioner Ahsan Abid has moved the accountability court through his counsel Aftab Bajwa. The petitioner contended that Multan NAB had conducted an inquiry against Hashim Jawan Bakhat and others in 2018.
The petitioner claimed that both Khusro brothers were found guilty of assets beyond means. However, petitioner alleged that inquiry was transferred to NAB Lahore due to influence of brother of Hasham Jawan Bakhat who is a federal minister.
The petitioner said that on his petitions the higher courts had issued direction to the NAB to file a reference in this regard but NAB didn’t comply with the court orders.
The counsel of petitioner argued that it is the jurisdiction of the accountability court to direct NAB to submit inquiry report or reference. However, the court dismissed the petition.
