PDM not a democratic movement without PPP, ANP: Bilawal

TAKHT BHAI: The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Saturday said came down hard on the Maulana Fazlur Rahman-led Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

“The PDM sans PPP and ANP is neither democratic nor a political movement,” he said while talking to reporters here. Bilawal rubbished the idea of rejoining the PDM, saying that he had torn apart the so-called show-cause notice and hence there was no need to join the alliance.

"No one can teach us how to fight undemocratic powers and how victory is gained. Only the PPP knows how to do that," Bilawal said. He said the PTI government had added to the woes of the people.

Bilawal said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been hit hard by poverty as the province had the highest number of poor people in the country. He said the PPP would expose the PTI government for sharing wrong figures about the economic growth.

He said the people have seen the ‘real face’ of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said the PPP government gave rights to the provinces under the 18th Amendment during its rule. He said the salary and pension of government employees in Sindh would be raised in line with inflation.

The PPP, he said, had brave and committed workers and nobody could face them in the electoral battles. He maintained the PPP would send the PTI government packing with the support of the people.

Bilawal said the PTI government failed to deliver on its election pledges. “The people are fed up with the rulers as they are facing the brunt of backbreaking inflation with no relief from the government,” he added.

The have-nots, he said, were now unable to arrange a two-time meal for their children due to the rising inflation. The selected rulers have added to the miseries of the people, he said, adding the government has presented an anti-poor budget.

The PPP leader said the government did not announce any incentives for the industrial workers in the federal budget. He maintained that the 10 percent increase in the salaries of government employees and pensioners was insufficient keeping in view the rising inflation in the country. He added that the federal budget was jugglery of words to deceive the people. He said that the PTI government gave ‘clean chit’ to its leaders Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar in corruption cases.
