Even though the government has announced an increase in public sector salaries, the budget hasn’t met the expectations of federal government employees. The cost of living in Pakistan is quite higher. The recent 10 percent increase in salaries will not help the employees cover their expenses. Utilities are so expensive. Train, bus and cab fares are quite expensive too.
The present increase is not justifiable at all. However, it seems that our ruling elite, who don’t have to face the problem of paying inflated bills every month, don’t really care about the salaried class.
