SUKKUR: At least 20 people including five family members were killed and over 30 injured when a speeding bus carrying pilgrims overturned on the Khuzdar Motorway in Balochistan. The bus carrying 100 pilgrims was returning to Dadu after the conclusion of a religious ceremony at the shrine of Pir Khwaja Gul Muhammad Jan Naqshbandi in the Kaka Heer area of Khuzdar in Balochistan. The bus overturned near Khuzdar’s Ghori area and plunged into a ravine, killing 20 people.
Bashir Bazai, an official of Khuzdar, said the driver was speeding because of which he lost control over the vehicle. The bodies and injured people have been shifted to the Khuzdar Teaching Hospital and the Combined Military Hospital, Khuzdar. The dead were identified as Hafiz Asif Ali, Paryal, Nizamuddin, Hafiz Asad Ali, Hafiz Hashim Ali, Ali Murad, Atif Ali, Nisar, Javed Ali, Zainul Abideen, Ashiq Ali, Sajjad Ali, Suhail, Junaid Ahmed Kokar, Ehsan Ali, Amanullah, Abdul Majeed, Haji Ali Leghari, Owais Ahmed Jamali and Abid Ali.
More than 30 passengers were injured including Master Soomar Gadhi, Jan Muhammad Gadhi, Ghanwar Gadhi, Yousuf Gadhi, Abdul Sattar Gadhi, Irfan Muhammad Gadhi, Qurban Ali Gadhi, Farooq Ali Gadhi, Taj Mohammad Gadhi, Shafiq Ahmed Gadhi, Alhaditto Gadhi, Hafiz Kamal Gadhi, Hafiz Amin Gadhi, Niaz Hussain Gadhi and Nisar Ahmed Gadhi.
Army Jawans rescued the dead and injured and rushed them to hospitals. Israr Ali Jamali was airlifted from the CMH Khuzdar to the CMH Quetta.
