MINGORA: In two separate unpleasant incidents, the tourists were looted at gun-point in Jahanabad and Peshmal areas of Swat district on Friday.
According to police, five tourists from Karachi were on their way to Malam Jabba when unidentified motorcyclists intercepted them in Jahanabad locality of Malam Jabba and snatched Rs55000 and three3 mobile phones from them.
In another accident, the robbers stopped the tourists in Peshmal area of Kalam, and snatched 80000, four mobiles phones and half tola of gold from. According to police, first information reports were registered in Charbagh and Kalam police stations. “An investigation is underway and the culprits will be identified within a short span of time,” said an official.
One of the victim tourists, Fahad Sami, told this scribe that the dacoits were so sharp that they completed the activity within three minutes. “After the incident, the kids and female are very disturbed.
The high officials of police and the administration are requested to arrest the culprit," said Fahad Sami, adding that Swat was a favourite tourist destination and such incidents would only earn a bad name for the scenic Swat valley and its tourism.
