Islamabad: The Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital has opened a general paediatrics ward at the Aabpara Maternal and Child Health centre.
The initiative meant for the care of children with complex medical needs comes weeks after Dr Shahid Hanif resumed the office of the hospital’s executive director.
He headed the health services ministry’s Population Programme Wing for more than one and a half years after transfer from Polyclinic. According to an official of the hospital, the general paediatrics ward will help improve patient care at the MCH centre.
He said after assuming the charge of the office, the ED conducted interviews of 72 medical officers through the Federal Public Service Commission and the selected officers were being given the letter of joining at Polyclinic.
The official also said the hospital had developed coronavirus vaccination centre for the people and many more projects would be executed in the next financial year.
He said Dr Shahid Hanif was keen to carry the hospital upgrade plans forward as desired by Prime Minister during a visit.
