LAHORE:The 63rd meeting of the cabinet committee on legislative business was held at Civil Secretariat under Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat.
The committee considered a number of legal agenda items and gave a go-ahead to some of them. The proposals approved included allocating a series of special numbers for LHC govt vehicles, amending the Pakistan Penal Code Ordinance 2019 to prevent power theft moved by the Department of Energy, affiliation of educational institutions with private universities in Punjab, guidelines 2021, Proposal by Punjab Energy Department to include private sector in power transmission, Proposal of Private Member Amendment Bill in Power Generation and distribution Act 1997 and Draft of Punjab Irrigated Forest and Ecotourism Act 2021. The committee deferred proposed amendments to the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 and proposals for the establishment of University of Gujranwala and University of Attock and allocating quota in recruitment for S Punjab for consideration on the objection of the higher education minister.
