4,819 Khidmat Cards to be distributed in Okara

OKARA: As many as 4,819 Khidmat Cards will be distributed among the disabled persons in the first phase here in the district.
It was said by DCO Aman Rana while addressing a meeting here on Sunday. Additional District Collector Ijaz Munir, EDO Community Rana Ashraf Javed and other concerned officers also attended the meeting. The DCO said that it was a policy of the Punjab government to provide maximum facilities to the disabled persons. The centres for issuance of the cards had been established at the DHQ Hospital Okara, TMA office Depalpur and Tehsil Renala Khurd, he added.
DBA POLLS SCHEDULE: District Bar Election Board chairman advocate Najamul Saqib on Sunday announced election schedule for the DBA elections to be held here on January 9, 2016.
According to the schedule, nomination papers for eight seats of the DBA including president and general secretary would be received on Dec 29 and 30 while the papers would be scrutinised on Dec 31. The candidates could withdraw their papers on January 1, 2016. The final list of the candidates would be issued on Jan 2, 2016.
2 DACOITS HELD WITH WEAPONS: Police on Sunday arrested two dacoits and recovered weapons from them.
On a tip-off, the police raided and arrested Muhammad Shaban and Adnan and recovered weapons from them, which were buried alongside a road in a village.
