2 land grabbers held, TMA’s land retrieved

HAFIZABAD: On the order of the DPO, Kassoki police on Sunday arrested two people and retrieved a TMA’s land from them, which they had occupied illegally at Winni village.
According to official source, the police along with the TMA staffers raided and retrieved the TMA land, which was owned by the TMA for water supply reservoir and was illegally occupied by alleged land grabbers Shahid Gonga and Muhammad Iqbal. The source told that the accused were also involved in selling narcotics and the police also recovered 2,750 grams heroin from them during the raid. The police also recovered illegal weapons from the possession of the accused persons. Separate cases have been registered against the accused persons.
15 COUPLES TIE THE KNOT: As many as 15 couples tied the knot in a mass marriage function at Kolo Tarar on Sunday.
The function was organised by a local organisation for poor couples. Speaking on the occasion, chairperson of the organisation Alia Usman Tarar and Ch Jafar Tarar said that they had arranged dowry worth Rs l50,000 for each bride. More than 200 guests from the families of brides and bridegrooms attended the function.
