PESHAWAR; Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) staged a demonstration here against the arrest of party leader Mufti Kifayatullah on Tuesday.
Led by the JUI-F secretary general, Khalid Waqar Chamkani and others, the protesters, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of Mufti Kifayatullah, gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club.Speaking on the occasion, the speakers recalled that Mufti Kifayatullah was arrested one month ago on fabricated charges. Terming it an injustice, urged the government to release him forthwith.
They also threatened to expand the protest movement if the JUI-F leader was not released forthwith.
