MARDAN: Former chief minister and Awami National Party (ANP) senior vice president Ameer Haider Hoti has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of conspiring to reverse the 18th constitutional amendment.
Talking to reporters here, he said the landmark legislation helped give provincial autonomy to the province, vowing to resist the bid to scrap it.
The ANP leader said that they would give tough time to the government during the upcoming budget.
Haider Hoti added his party agreed with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)’s standpoint regarding ousting the government but separated ways as he believed some people imposed their decisions on others.
Criticising the government, he said International Monetary Fund (IMF) was dictating the government with regard to the budget. He said the figures about economic recovery were false as no independent body had confirmed them.
Haider Hoti said unemployment, price-hike and poverty had made the lives of the people. He added that they along with other opposition parties would give a tough time to the government in passing the budget.
He argued that the decision to return to PDM fold would be taken after looking at the role of those who had issued them show-cause notice.
